This forest grew trees four feet in diameter and up to 150 feet tall. Pine is an often overlooked flooring material due as it s a softer wood although heart pine is different from yellow or white pine. These slow growth heartwood pine trees matured in 400 to 500 years. Although they are pine and they have heartwood antique longleaf pine especially the river recovered wood is stronger more durable more stable and has a richer patina and color.
